I did school experience at MAN 11 Jakarta for two weeks. This was my first time I have experience became a teacher assistant. Beside it I did observation. I did it in three classes. Each class in there has some technologies such as focus. In this school there are three English teachers. Each of them holds different content of English lesson. The content is speaking and listening, reading, and grammar comprehension. I have observation at all of content.
The first I observed in grammar comprehension class. At that time the teacher explain about active and passive sentences. The teacher used PowerPoint and focus to present it, but there was just one slide. There was no animation, design, or picture on his PowerPoint, whereas he has made interesting sentences. The sentences are about football. If I were in his position I will insert picture or video about that. I think it can make students more interested. Then, to exercise I will use some exercise from internet. It is because many exercise about grammar comprehension that looks interesting on the internet. Another choice I will make exercise by myself on PowerPoint with use mouse mischief application. I think the students can do fun learning in class. It is because with mouse mischief the students can involve in my PowerPoint with use mouse wireless. They can choose the answer by their self and I think use it can make students give full attention to me.
The second, I observed in listening class. The teacher asked to my friend and me to read material for listening to the students. It is mean that listening session would be manual way. So, the students must listen to us, and we must read it twice. I think for listening session is better if the students listen from the record, such as from cassette or mobile phone. If I teach listening course, I will use podcast or another technology such as from internet. In podcast I can record my voice and make it into some different voice like become children’s voice, boy’s voice, etc. then, if the material in the story forms, I can use another sounds effect, such as sound waves, and another sounds effect. Then internet, there are some examples of link for listening such as British Council-learn English, etc. Another example is TPR (Total Physical Response). Based on my experience in Technology of Language Learning (TLL) class on topic technology to teach listening can use TPR. I can use TPR games, Live Action English Interaction, etc. It is because TPR focuses on psychomotor associations and lowering of the effective filter (Asher, 1997). I as candidate of teacher was interested in the appearance. I think the students will interested too.
The third, I observed in reading class. The teacher did not use technology in this class. He just discuss from the text book. I think this course is more boring than other, because not all students like reading and the students in this class was keep silent, if the teacher didn’t ask the students they didn’t speak up. So, in my opinion the teacher must be creative to conduct the learning process. I think technology is one of them. If I in his position, I will use video as learning media. I will ask the students to watch the video about reading text, such as recount, narrative, etc. Then, after they watch the video they must discus in a group about what they get from the video. After they discus, I will ask them to post the discussion result in BlogSpot or group Facebook account. Another way that will I use is source based on TLL course, there are teaching reading skills and the use of computers. One of them is automatic word recognition skills and Synthesis and evaluation skills. In automatic word recognition skills, there are examples of using the phonics approach, learn to read at starfall, BBC words and pictures. In Synthesis and evaluation skills there are examples such as Ace Detectives (mystery-solving game) and storing mapping activity. I hope with use it students will more enthusiasm to leran reading course.
In the second week of school experience I began practice team teaching. The first class was X-4, my friend and I taught about language features in narrative text. We used PowerPoint and exercise from internet as learning media. We used PowerPoint for gave material to the students. On the PowerPoint, we used some animation, pictures, template, etc. It is because we wanted to made students enjoy to saw our explanation with used it. Then, we used exercise from the internet for review material that we have given to them. In the exercise, the students must fill in the blank of the sentences. They just said the answer, and we would to type the answer. Then, after the students finish answering it, we click the bottom to check the true answer, and to count how many mistakes in there. So, the students could know where their mistakes were, and they could fix the answer again. I saw the students were enthusiasm when they answer the question.
In the next day, I taught in XI-IPA 2. In this class I taught about explanation text. I just used PowerPoint in this class, because the limited time. On the PowerPoint, there was material and exercise for the students. My friend and I asked the students to analysis text on the PowerPoint. We used animation to hide the answer, so they cannot saw the true answer. I think use PowerPoint, it make easier. It is because, we can put important points on there, so we do not afraid if we forget what the next material will be explain. Beside it, we can put some picture with the animation to make students interested.
It is true that technology can make student interested to the course in class, because I have my experience about that when I did team teaching. Then, I think technology is important in learning process, because now we have entered the era of globalization. It means that as the teacher it will be better if we used technology in learning process, such as technology for teach listening and reading. It corroborate by an article that technology has an influence on education. Many schools, especially in the city have used technology in learning process and it got a good respond from their students. It is related to Jean Piaget’s theory (1950), that cognitive psychology shows that individual mental process used to respond the environment. So, used technology can help students to learn in the class.

Personal identity is something that each human have. Of course each human have different personality and also I have it. From the differences we can find something that unique. Every human have multiple identity, such as culture, race, religion, sex (male or female), etc. I am from Sundanese. Some people have some stereotype about Sundanese, one of which is sundanese cannot say words with letter f.
I have an experience about that. In my college SSE (Sampoerna School of Education) I have friends from different culture. There are Javanese, Bataknese, Betawinese, etc. I just realized that the stereotype is true. I recognize that I often consciously said f became p, for example “fanta” I said the word became “panta”. When I talking with my friends from another culture I usually did it and my friends usually laugh. My friends usually asked me “why sundanese cannot spell f?” I think it is because in sundanese language there are not words with letter f, most of the words in sundanese language with letter p. From the case, if I will to say the words with letter f, I always carefully not to make more mistakes in pronunciation. It is because I don’t want my friend laughing me again.
Then, because my friends who most usually mock me are from Javanese, so I began to analysis what the weakness from them. Finally I found it. Evidently, Javanese cannot say words with letter g, they say it becomes k, for example “endog” became “endok”. I was happy because I can mock them tooJ. So, each of us same have the weakness for pronunciation of words because cannot say specific letter.
Another stereotype about sundanese that I have heard is sundanese people especially female are talkative. Is it right? I do not really know about it. Reflect to me, maybe I am a talkative person, but in my opinion not all of sundanese people are talkative. It is because I have friends who calm person, they are not talkative. So, the stereotype is less precise. It possible if someone who make a judge like that more often met with talkative person from sundanese.
Besides negative stereotype about sundanese, I heard a positive thing. Some people assume that sundanese people, especially female are beautiful. I am so happy to hear that. In my opinion, people have the right to stereotype another people, country, etc., but before we stereotype another thing we must to find out more in the longer. It is because according to me that to judge or stereotype something, firstly we must have strong evidence. So that no one was harmed in this case.

It is because in the reality it doesn’t work. The average of people in the world usually makes judgment to another people wheares they only see the cover of the people in the first time. Actually, it is usually happened to me. I have many experience of that, especially in past time.
I usually judge someone by their cover. I usually see from their appearence and their face. It happened when I introduced with a new people. At that time I was student in senior high school. I saw the girl from another class. I noticed her from her appearence, face, and fashion. I judged her that she was an arrogant people. Then, I heard some issues about her from my friend and it made me more conviced that she was like I though before. And then, when I entered high school I met again with her and evidently she sat in the same class with me. I was shocked. In the first I didn’t want to sat in the same class with her, but after I knew her, she was a nice people eventually. I sat in the bench behind her. All of my judgement was wrong. She was very kind people. From that time we became friendship. We always hang out together, and went to canteen together. One day I said to her that I ever made judgment about her. Then, she just laugh. I feel very sorry for that. I promiseds to myself that I must though a positive thing to another people before I know them so well.
I hold it become my prinsip. It worked untill I have accident. When I went to school experience I have pickpocketing. It happened in public vehicle when I wanted to get out from the bus. The thieves hinder me not to get off. One of them pretended cramps, and I foolishly believe it. It is because I have positive thinking about them. I thought that they want to get out from the bus too. I realize it when I have been down. A zipper on my bag was open, and they succeed to pick up my wallet. From that moment I promise that I must be carefully to another people who don’t know before. Message from the accident that I must positive thinking to others, but I must be carefully too, because not everyone including a good people. And because of the accident I became suspicious people toward others, especially if I was in public places. I hope from all of my experience in above I can learn about personal identity another people, and I can see the differences between bad people and good people.
